Why the imagery matters so much
The law allows legalization only of buildings erected by 21 June 2011, and the main evidence is the State Geodetic Administration digital orthophoto taken that year. If the building is visible — the condition is met.
Checking via the Geoportal
- 1Open the DGU Geoportal (geoportal.dgu.hr) and find your parcel by address or parcel number.
- 2In the layer menu, switch on the 2011 orthophoto (DOF5 2011).
- 3Compare: is your house, extension or auxiliary building visible in its present shape?
If it is not clearly visible
Not all is lost: a building recorded in the cadastral map or another official cartographic base by that date also meets the condition. Tree canopies, shadows and the imaging angle can hide a building — in doubt, older official plans are worth checking.
