Use permit for an old house: when you need one — and when not

What a use permit is for

The use permit confirms a building was constructed per its permit and may be used. It is requested for sales, mortgages and utility connections — but for older buildings the law provides substitute evidence.

The most common real-life case

A house from the sixties with no papers at all: the solution is the pre-1968 certificate plus registration in the cadastre and land registry. No legalization, no architect, no technical inspection — just proof of age and a survey report.

Check first, then proceed

Before starting any procedure, we check what the records already hold about the building — half the documentation is often already there. The check is free.
